TAB Earns 3 National Association Excellence Awards

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) has been recognized for its outstanding achievements in community service, communications, and education with three Association Excellence Awards (AEA) from the Executive Officers Council (EOC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). These prestigious awards celebrate TAB’s leadership in disaster relief, legislative advocacy, and workforce development.

“It is a tremendous honor for TAB to be recognized with these awards, as they celebrate our collective mission of preserving the dream of homeownership for all Texans,” said Scott Norman, TAB CEO. “I am deeply grateful for our members and volunteers whose passion and integrity across the entire association are the driving force behind our community outreach and advocacy. From our rapid response helping neighbors rebuild after the Hill Country floods to our advocacy efforts strengthening the future construction workforce and tireless work advancing housing attainability throughout the legislative session, these achievements are shared by everyone involved.”

TAB was honored in the following three categories:

• Best Community Service Project: Following the devastating July 4, 2025 floods across Central Texas and the Hill Country, the Texas Builders Foundation mobilized the statewide home building community to deliver immediate relief and long-term recovery support, donating $25,000, delivering critical supplies, and raising more than $70,000 to support local recovery organizations.
• Best Publication: The Texas Association of Builders 89th Legislative Session Recap translates complex legislative activity into a clear, accessible resource for the residential construction industry. This digital and print publication summarizes key legislation affecting housing in Texas and highlights TAB’s advocacy efforts for members, local homebuilder associations and policymakers.
• Best Workforce Development Plan: The Texas Association of Builders led a coordinated private campaign to pass Proposition 1, establishing a historic $850 million endowment for Texas State Technical College. This voter-approved fund ensures long-term infrastructure stability across 11 campuses, addressing Texas’s critical skilled labor shortage and fueling economic growth without raising taxes.

The Association Excellence Awards are an annual program designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of state and local home builders’ associations and executive officers in the field of association management. EOC membership is comprised of the staff executives who direct more than 650 NAHB-affiliated state and local home builders’ associations representing more than 140,000 home builders in communities across the United States.

“The AEA Awards highlight the very best work being done by state and local home builders’ associations to serve their members, improve the housing industry and strengthen their communities,” said Greg Lane, EOC president and executive vice president of the Building Industry Association of Washington. “This year’s winners were each very well deserved and represent our entire association through their creativity, innovation and integrity. Congratulations to each of these award-winning associations!”

The winning entries will be featured on the NAHB website, so that other executive officers and associations across the country can access and learn from them to provide better service to their own members and community.
