Press Releases

The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) was recently honored with four national awards. TAB won two Association Excellence Awards from the Executive Officers Council (EOC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and two publication honors from Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX).
TAB announced the 2020 Star Awards winners. This year marked the first time in program history that the presentation of awards was revealed virtually via Zoom. The record setting 614 entries reflected in an additional four more Grand Awards and nearly 200 trophies being presented. The show moved to a virtual event after the Sunbelt Builders Show™ was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Texas Builders Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of its fall 2020 scholarship awards. Seven outstanding students were selected to receive the Texas Builders Foundation scholarships. This is the 10th year that the Foundation has awarded student scholarships.
With recent spikes in positive coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in the state of Texas, the Texas Association of Builders’ (TAB) Senior Leadership has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Sunbelt Builders Show™ and TAB’s Committee and Board of Directors meetings that were slated for July 14-17 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of former TAB and NAHB President Granger MacDonald. Granger passed away at his home in Kerrville on June 17, 2020. Granger led our association through the very challenging "great recession" and set the association on a course of solid financial footing. Even after his tenure as TAB president, he continued to be engaged in TAB's affairs. His wisdom, leadership and friendship will be sorely missed. No one had more love for the association federation than Granger. His dedication and commitment to our industry and federation was extraordinary and an inspiration to all who met him.
