Get Involved In YP

The Young Professionals Council shall concern itself with issues particular to young professionals of the residential building industry and exists to identify, recruit and develop future high potential leaders of the home building industry. YP will focus on building and retaining long lasting relationships with its members by creating and promoting a sense of passion, commitment, accountability and responsibility to each other and the home building industry.

This includes:

► The engagement of young professionals at the local HBA level and outside of the association for membership recruitment;

► The encouragement of participation in local HBA events, TAB events, education, awards programs, member benefit programs and discounts, etc.;

► Offering industry knowledge, professional growth, mentorship and education to TAB’s younger or newer members about the legislative issues TAB faces, its structure and its purpose in the residential building industry; and

► Offering the opportunity for young professionals statewide to meet and build professional relationships with one another.

Young Professionals (YP) is loosely defined as professionals ages 45 and under. Members of the YP Council must be TAB members or employees of TAB members.

Committee Meetings & Events

The YP Council meets in conjunction with TAB board meetings three times a year. Meetings will contain an educational component presented by TAB members or industry leaders, open industry topic discussions or networking events.  Meetings are open to any young professional member or employee of a TAB member.

Excellence under 45 Awards Program

The TAB Excellence under 45 Awards Program is dedicated to highlighting and rewarding young professionals that have committed their time, efforts and careers to the Texas building industry.  The program is designed to acknowledge their hard work and successes, reward their performance and dedication and showcase them as future leaders of the industry across our state. 


In this year's class, TAB is excited to induct the following four recipients who are to be commended for their commitment of time, energy and efforts to the growth and prosperity of the Texas building industry. Their unmatched enthusiasm and love for building, proves that the residential home building future is in good hands.

YP Get Together

Wednesday, August 2 the YP Council hosted its annual YP Get Together at the Rodeo Goat Icehouse. It was a great night with young professionals across the state and gourmet burgers and craft beer provided by the event sponsors. We sold out of tickets and raised over $3,500 through ticket sales to benefit the Texas Builders Foundation. Thank you to all our sponsors. Your support means the a great deal.  Next year we plan to have an even bigger better Get Together!
