The Texas Association of Builders is committed to bringing you the best training and information available. TAB offers at least one statewide education initiative each year through the local home builders associations; online self-study courses are available through this website; and, NAHB Designation Courses are offered through most local HBAs and online at NAHB.org.

 
Texas Energy Code Training: 3 Hour Energy Code Update Workshops Delivered Statewide

Apple Energy Group (AEG) is delivering 3 Hour Energy Code Update Workshops in over 30 cities across Texas on behalf of the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO).  The workshops are designed to provide building professionals with updates and guidance on the 2009 IECC and 2009 IRC: Chapter 11.  AEG is proud to partner with the Texas Association of Builders and local home builders associations to promote the workshops among the builder community.  Many HBAs are serving as facility hosts for the workshops, which will include participation from a wide variety of building professionals including builders, architects, code officials, contractors, engineers, and materials suppliers.

The Texas Association of Builders has entered into an Alliance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to provide training and information through the local HBAs. OSHA’s Compliance Specialists are available free of charge and will tailor-make their presentations to suit the specific needs of each local association and its members. OSHA delayed its compliance directive regarding fall protection in residential construction until Sept. 15, 2011. Both TAB and NAHB are working with OSHA to ensure that the new fall protection guidelines are reasonable, and we will continue to provide you with information as it becomes available.
